View specificationsWarehouse floor sweepers collect packaging fragments, dust, sand and other loose debris before it spreads through aisles and loading areas. Machine selection should account for aisle access, filtration, hopper servicing and forklift traffic.
A sweeper is intended for loose dry material. If the floor also has tire marks, oil films or bonded soil, sweeping may need to be followed by scrubbing. Trying to wash a floor covered with loose debris can increase squeegee wear and block the recovery system.
Describe the debris size, density and daily volume. Fine dust places more demand on filtration and filter cleaning, while bulky packaging waste affects brush and hopper selection.
Measure the clear aisle after pallets and guards are included. Review rack ends, dock plates, ramps, pedestrian crossings and areas where the machine must reverse. A compact ride-on sweeper can outperform a wider machine if it spends less time repositioning.
For indoor use, operator visibility, noise and dust control are important. Semi-enclosed or enclosed formats may suit routes that continue into outdoor yards, depending on the environment.
Dust-control performance depends on filter area, sealing, airflow and the filter-cleaning method. Ask how the filter is inspected and cleaned and whether replacement filters are readily available.
Hopper capacity should match the debris volume, but emptying method and filled weight matter too. Operators need safe access for hopper emptying, side-brush inspection and removal of wrapped material.
Share the warehouse layout, cleanable area, aisle width, debris, gradients, operating hours and destination. State whether dust control, water spraying, enclosure, lights or a reversing camera are required.
