Catalog runtime is a planning reference, not a guarantee for every site. Brush load, floor friction, travel speed, gradients, battery age and operator behavior all change the energy used during a shift.

What changes actual runtime

A machine draws power for traction, brushes, solution control and water recovery. Heavy brush pressure, rough floors and repeated acceleration increase demand. Cold conditions, long idle periods and an aged battery can also reduce usable capacity.

  • Floor texture and brush or pad resistance

  • Machine load, gradients and travel pattern

  • Battery chemistry, capacity, age and temperature

  • Charging quality and depth of discharge

Plan runtime around the route

Estimate the longest uninterrupted cleaning period, then include time for travel and unexpected delays. If the route exceeds one practical charge, compare a larger battery, opportunity charging where approved, a replaceable battery system or a second machine.

  • Do not size only from theoretical productivity

  • Locate the charging area before purchase

  • Confirm charger input voltage and plug

  • Include battery and charger weight in transport planning

Daily operator checks

Before use, inspect cables, connectors, battery indicators and visible damage. After cleaning, empty and rinse tanks, remove debris from brushes and squeegees, and park the machine according to the battery supplier's charging instructions.

  • Check charge level before the route

  • Keep connectors clean, dry and secure

  • Inspect for heat, swelling, leakage or damaged insulation

  • Record unusual runtime loss instead of compensating with deeper discharge

Maintenance depends on battery chemistry

Flooded lead-acid, sealed lead-acid and lithium batteries have different charging, ventilation and inspection requirements. Never apply one maintenance routine to every chemistry. Follow the battery and charger manuals supplied with the exact configuration.

  • Use only the approved charger profile

  • Provide required ventilation and access control

  • Follow water-level procedures only for batteries designed for it

  • Arrange qualified inspection for faults or damaged packs

Questions for the supplier

Confirm battery type, rated capacity, expected practical runtime range, charger input, charging time, warranty conditions and replacement availability. Ask which loads were active during runtime testing and whether the quoted battery is included in the machine price.

Selection note: Final machine specifications, accessories and conformity documents should be confirmed for the selected model and destination before ordering.
